Behind Bars

Sher is coloring pictures of 2 deer. One in the zoo and one in the forest. The one behind bars at the zoo is the boy. Because boys are bad. Hmmm did I say that?
Girls are in the forest with lovely trees. They also have orange antlers and red nail polish on their hooves.
I am glad I am a girl deer.

A Small Bloom

Yay- I noticed today that the orchid I keep in the window sill at work has a bloom. You don't know how hard it has been keeping this sucker alive. It has been just a stick since the 2nd week I got it. I faithfully watered the stick and kept it in the sun since Oct. Yes, Oct 2008.
I'll let you know how the bloom goes. Maybe I don't have much of a green thumb.
Also, good news to report. I didn't fall and break anything walking on the sheet of ice that was the sidewalk today. I am also happy to report that I saw in the paper today that the city won't be responsible for the sidewalks since the budget is so bad. They will now fine homeowners $90 smackers if they don't keep the walkways clean. I have a list of names I would like to give them.

Snow Day

Ok- so the kids got their wished for snow day. I kinda thought that we might have one so I was preparing mentally.

I debated going to work but with the snow and the roads, my doctors appt (I have a severe deviated septum- who knew?)-plus our car ordeal (car broke down on I-95 right on a bridge and the popo towed it before K could get back to it. In like only ten minutes. I might here insert a note about the unscrupulous towing company- can you say kicking someone when they are down?)

Anyway, I am working from home today. I thought that I would make the perfect breakfast (pancakes) and some homemade bread for lunch. Well the kids each wanted something different for breakfast and so they got pancakes anyway. I did burn the pancakes since I was trying to do bread at the same time. They ate them.

So we will see how the rest of my perfect day goes. I hope to get in a nap at some point.

Oh, and my belly dancing class that was supposed to start tonite is CXLED cause of the snow. Bummer!!

I would like to address two things:
1st- the lady on my train who is > than 20- maybe 20 years > who carries a Hannah Montana bag. Imagine a older woman dressed in conservative business attire with a bright magenta bag emblazoned with the face of Hannah Montana. That is all I plan to say about that. (I did want to post a picture of her, but she stares at me really mean when I try to sneak one.)
2nd- I would like to mention my sweet husband who brought me a cup of coffee in bed this morning while I was still in bed. He also rubbed my head for a few minutes and gave me an encouraging pep talk for the day. I still did not want to get up, but I thought it was sweet.
I don't have a picture to post, but I do have one from yesterday of me freezing while waiting for the train. Maybe I'll add that later.

My humps......and lumps.

Last week-end K and I found this cool antique dresser. We bought it, but had to have help to get it up stairs cause the sucker is solid wood. It is super cool and very handy. It also came with a huge mirror. When I say huge, I mean like half the wall.
Now everytime I am changing clothes or getting ready for bed I have a huge view of my huge butt jiggling merrily. The mirror is large enough to show in HD all my glorious cellulite and lumps.
Now I kinda hate the mirror and I wonder why no one at the beach last year told me that I was packing some some serious jelly-butt.
You can bet I am not posting a picture of that.

Hmm

Sher got a Thank-you card from her friend Emily. It was homemade and had a picture of her at the party. It read " Sheridan thank-you for coming to my party and for the Guess Who Game." She thought it was really cool. I felt like the world's worst mother since I don't make home-made thank-you cards.
So I said "Wow! Emily's mother must be really crafty. Too bad your mom isn't crafty." I thought Sher would say "oh its ok" or "no big deal mom"
She said" I know"
As in I am lacking in my development since my mom can't craft to save her life.
Tonite we made a bead bracelet. I am very proud.
